In the first episode, teachers Chanchal Sahu, Triveni Sahu and Jharna Sahu in conversation with Shreya Khemani, share the challenges they faced as teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic and their struggle to continue teaching during the longest school closure in the world. They also speak about what it means to be teachers in the current religious and political climate of India, and the violent ways in which this affects children’s lives. They share their experience and the challenges of creating a learning space that fosters critical thinking in such times.
इस पोडकास्ट में, बिरगाँव, रायपुर के तीन शिक्षक चंचल साहू, त्रिवेणी साहू और झरना साहू कोविड-19 के दौरान टीचर होने के चुनौतियों पर अपने अनुभव शिक्षक श्रेया खेमानी से साझा करते हैं. वे हमें बताते हैं कि उन्होंने विश्व के सबसे लंबे स्कूल बंदी के दौरान बच्चों को शिक्षा पहु़ँचाने का संघर्ष कैसे किया. साथ में वे इस बात पर हमारा ध्यान आकर्षित करते हैं कि कोविड के अलावा और भी बीमारियाँ हैं जो हमारे समाज में फैली हुई है. आज के धार्मिक राजनैतिक माहौल का बच्चों के जीवन में जो हिंसात्मक असर पड़ रहा है, उस पर भी वे रोशनी डालते हैं. इस दौर में सीखने का एक ऐसा माहौल बनाना जहाँ बच्चे सोचने, समझने व आलोचना करने वाले इनसान बन पाएँ – इसके चुनौतियों व अनुभवों को भी वे साझा करते हैं.
In the second episode, Jharna Sahu, Triveni Sahu and Maya Yadav are in conversation with Shreya Khemani. All four of them are practising teachers and together, they conducted a study on the working lives of teachers in Birgaon, Raipur, Chhattisgarh called “Interrogating What Reproduces a Teacher”. They share some of the findings of their study and together with Chanchal Sahu, read out some dreams and demands that they have collectively formulated…
